Music has provided me with a lifetime full of enjoyment. It is the language that every human being is able to understand. It doesn’t matter what your background is, who you are, or what elements are in your life - everyone can relate emotionally to a sweet melody, or understand the hurt and frustration that the music is trying to portray with a dark and tantalizing theme.

Music is found all around us. It can be found in the sound tracks of the movies we watch, and television shows – including news broadcasts, sporting events, comedies and drama. The media has taken many forms over the years – from live music with instruments and vocals to vinyl, cassettes, 8-tracks, CD’s and iPods. The sound of music is broadcast world wide on AM, FM and satellite radio.

It creates a bond between groups of people. From jazz to rock-n-roll to country to classical, music brings people together. It is found in our national anthems, our churches, our celebrations and holiday carols. It has been used to lead soldiers into battle and to honor those who have died. It helps define our history.

Music, in every form, is what I love. Music has given me a fulfillment that, without it, would have left my life with a void. All music tells a story: it’s going somewhere, it’s coming from something. Composers have given us the road map, and musicians drive you there. Similar to reading a book, what you get out of the words is left up to you - the world that you create. Just like the words you read, the notes and chords on a sheet of staff paper is what is used to produce the next big symphony, movie sound track or a top forty hit. What the ink produces with those notes and chords enhances, beautifies, fulfills, reveals your true inner feelings and helps define who you are.
